Audio System Chipset

Audio System Chipset with MAP-M

To address the need of different applications, standard-specific audio decoding is separated from application-specific processing and interfacing. The resulting system-cut provides flexibility without redundancy

The MAP-M performs all application-specific audio baseband processing and provides all necessary interfaces. To extend the system up to 5.1 multichannel, MAP-M can easily be complemented by various audio decoding coprocessors.

In DVD systems, the DVD controller can serve as coprocessor. For non-DVD systems, many audio decoders are available on the market, e.g. the Micronas MAS 35xyH family.

The MAS-H offers Dolby Digital, DTS, ProLogic II and MPEG decoding. Its automatic input format recognition makes it very easy to use.

A complete description of the MAP-M system solution can be downloaded.

VGC 5969B IDTV application example

Micronas offers a comprehensive solution package for the VGC 5969B. The Linux-like software architecture reduces development effort and time.

Hardware and software are performance-optimized around a fast real-time operating system (RTOS). Micronas makes it easy to use by providing a complete FPD TV software package including a suite of high-level drivers and applications. The high-level drivers facilitate the software development and offer full control of picture parameters. This also includes Dynamic Picture Signal Improvement (DPSI) where motion, noise, and histogram of an input signal are measured. These parameters are used to automatically control peaking, Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR), Dynamic Contrast Enhancement (DCE), and 3-D comb filter, resulting in naturally looking pictures on any flat-panel display.Various real-time tasks such as letterbox detection and film-mode detection are integrated in the video driver. Only a few lines of code are required to realize formerly complex applications, such as fast dynamic scaling (zoom/fisheye).

VGC 5969B system application: Dual-channel flat-panel IDTV with optional motion-compensated de-interlacing ( FRC truD ), DVB-T (MDE 95xyD, DRX 39xyD) / ATSC support (DRX 39xyH) and S/PDIF input
Utilized ICs:
